Introduction
The Zero Emission Vehicle Foundation announces the next in its series of evening conferences. “The rapidly expanding Electric Car industry: evaluating the global investment opportunity”
Rationale
As the world runs out of oil, nations aspire to energy independence, and concern about carbon emissions/global warming grows, the car industry worldwide is making a necessary transition to sustainable electric car technologies.
There is a multi billion euro requirement to finance this emerging, rapidly expanding industry, from:
a. the $100,000 that an electric car start-ups need (the high-growth opportunity for angel investors), to:
b. the $200M already raised by Tesla, Better Place, etc. (a growing sector for VC’s, boutique merchant banks, and international commercial banks).
History demonstrates there’s a need for investors, at all levels, to learn about the electric car sector.
- 10 years ago: practically no professional investors were looking at electric cars
- 5 years ago: the leading innovative investors began (Kleiner Perkins, et al)
- Recently global investment leaders have come on board: i.e. Warren Buffet investing £230M in the Chinese electric carmaker BYD.
- 5 years into the future: all merchant banks, hedge funds, PE firms, etc will be involved.
Now is the time to learn more!
Importantly, this evening conference will provide a great opportunity to meet some of the key organisations, suppliers, manufacturers, designers, funding bodies and policy makers working within this arena – all within an effective business networking setting.
